The JHKL-prime stars used at the Anglo-Australian Observatory as photometry standards are equatorial or Southern Hemisphere objects of K value in the 1.5-6.0 range. A comparison of these stars with other lists of standards is presented, with attention to the Johnson (1966) photometric system. Recommendations are given for the use of the JHKL-prime stars.
