Some previous results concerning the increase in cosmic ray intensity in front of a moving ideally reflecting magnetic screen are extended and generalized. A screen of the type examined may be an amplified magnetic field region generated in the solar wind after a high-intensity solar flare. The parameters defining the configuration of the screen, and the conditions of charged particle propagation in front of the screen are the sole variables in the analysis. It is assumed that the rigidity of the particles lies between 1 and 100 GV, and that their velocity is close to the velocity of light. The variation in cosmic ray intensity caused by the interaction between the magnetic screen and charged particles with an isotropic distribution is calculated for a screen of arbitrary configuration in an empty space and for a spherical screen in a diffusion medium.
