The relationship between H-alpha structures and the photospheric line of sight component of both the magnetic and velocity field is studied. The velocity charts were plotted from the Doppler shift observed for the Fe I 5576 A line (which is insensitive to the effects of the magnetic field). Simultaneous observations of the magnetic field in the Fe I 5250 A line and continuum were also used. Observations were carried out at 2-arcsec intervals across the disk. The H-alpha structures used for comparison were obtained from spectroheliograms. The spatial location of H-alpha structures was determined with respect to sunspots. It is found that in most cases the isophote corresponding to 87% of the continuum background outlines the edges of visible penumbra in Ca II (K(1v) line) while the 58% isophote corresponds to umbra.
