Platt and Dyson's (1989) three-dimensional model of VHF propagation along ionospheric waveguides or ducts is used to study transequatorial propagation (TEP) along equatorial bubble irregularities that are aligned along the earth's magnetic field. The calculation results confirm that TEP can be caused by guided propagation along equatorial bubble irregularities which are aligned along the magnetic field. A bubble located on the transmitter's longitude can illuminate a wide area of the conjugate hemisphere.
