The interaction between whistler solitons and an electron beam is considered. The rate of energy exchange between the beam particles and the soliton gas is given. It is shown that there can be efficient energy transfer from the solitons to the particles. The dependence of the energy exchange rate on various plasma parameters is examined. The results are shown to be relevant in the solar wind.
