Titheridge's (1971) work on diffraction by isolated irregularities is
used as a basis for investigating irregularities which produce Fresnel
diffraction patterns on the ground at 137 MHz. This theory enables
constructing models for electron density fluctuations which generate
diffraction patterns to fit observed patterns.
