Scientific paper

The paper presents a theoretical study of instabilities connected with inhomogeneity of the plasma velocity profile at the Venusian ionopause. A particular case of such modes is the usual Kelvin-Helmholtz instability. Various cases of macroscopic plasma motion with respect to the magnetic field are considered. The results obtained are discussed in connection with observations of plasma clouds in the Venusian barrier and with large-scale and small-scale magnetic fields in the ionosphere.
