Open problems are considered in various fields of space science, which
could be resolved by out-of-ecliptic observations at high heliographic
latitude. The interplanetary plasma and magnetic field are discussed.
Cosmic rays of galactic and solar origin are dealt with, as is
interplanetary dust. The most relevant solar phenomena are considered.
