The latitude distribution of gamma-rays in the glactic anticenter as measured by the COS-B satellite was compared with that expected from interactions between cosmic rays and the interstellar gas. Both the variation in absolute magnitude and shape of the distribution suggest a low density of 1 to 10 GeV cosmic rays in the Perseus arm and beyond, confirming the galactic origin of these particles.
