The gravitational scattering process between two planetesimals rotating around a protosun is investigated. The three-dimensional Hill's equation is solve approximately, obtaining analytic expressions for the changes of orbital elements resulting from an encounter for two special cases: (1) the initial semimajor axes of the bodies are nearly equal, and (2) they are very different.
