HD 4539 is a bright subdwarf-B (sdB) star not known to be variable photometrically, but showing line profile variations which may be interpreted as g-mode pulsation. In the present paper, I report photometry obtained as part of a search for evidence of HD 4539 being a photometric variable. While the photometric time-series obtained and the radial velocity time-series from the literature were found to have a frequency in common at 9.28 cycles/day, a meticulous examination of errors is needed to confirm the photometric variability of HD 4539.
