The different channels of production of very energetic neutrons in leading clusters of UHE proton collisions (for instance, via Δ resonance) suggest an important neutron emission after hadronic cascading in supernovae ejection columns; typical energetic lines (versus energetic spectrum of primary protons, initially accelerated from pulsars, source distance, column thickness) can be put in evidence by observing very large EAS.
The situation is compared with Akeno results for a possible emission from Cygnus X3 (above 1018 eV, for a distance of 11 Kpc). The associated neutron flux expected from the direction of Cygnus X3 could reach 10 events/day (for a 104 Km2 array, able to detect showers above 5. 108 GeV).
The energetic range above 1019 eV would be well adapted to a neutron exploration of the galactic halo (for instance LMC at 56 Kpc visible from 0.6 1019 eV, but also to the extragalactic domain where neutrons of some 10 EeV from M31 could be expected (at distances larger than 600 Kpc).
