The evolution of the scale factors in a matter-plus-string-driven Kantowski-Sachs cosmology is studied here using two specific equations of state. The growth rate and relative expansion rates of each scale factor are examined as a measure of the smoothing out of the initial anisotropy. The bulk and shear viscosity are treated as perturbations and the possible destabilizing properties of these viscous effects are considered.
