Based on known facts of solar physics, an attempt is made to interpret the sun as a self-gravitating system of about 10 the 57 nucleons and electrons. These elementary particle particles are endowed with strong, electromagnetic, weak, and gravitational interactions. The consequences of these four interactions with regard to the origin of the sun, its evolution, its structure, and its makeup are examined.
