The effects of relativity theory on the concept of absolute time are discussed. Determinism and chaos are considered, including the roles of predictability and unpredictability in physics and the influence of relativity on them. The concept of irreversibility is examined, and the significance of the arrow of time and catastrophes in relation to that concept is discussed.
