The near UV detector onboard the Moscow State University micro satellite ``Universitetsky-Tatiana'' observed the atmosphere in the 300-400 nm wavelength range. Data shows a correlation between the transient UV event rates and brightness with the Earth's lunar phase. The observed UV transient events are found to be concentrated in the equatorial region and may be correlated with water vapor concentration. A possible interpretation of these observational results is discussed.
