The assumed mission requirements for a radiatively cooled space telescope are outlined, and the factors affecting mission selection are listed. Relevant characteristics for current and proposed cooled telescope missions such as Edison are given. The most important factors affecting orbit choice for ISO, FIRST, and SIRTF are addressed along with orbit choice factors considered in recent Edison studies.
