The ray pattern of high-frequency whistler waves propagating through the plasma-resonance region in the polar topside ionosphere is determined in the linear approximation. Assuming spatial dispersion determined by the finite temperature of electrons, a divergent whistler beanm is found to be transformed into a parallel beam of plasma waves. The relationship of mean beam fields before and after resonance is studied on the basis of ray calculations.
