An expansion of the disturbing functionR is suggested for the special case when the orbits of a group of minor planets have approximately equal major semi-axesa i .R is presented as a Taylor series in the deviations ofa i from some mean valuea 0. The expansion has an analytical form with respect to α=a 0/a,a being the major semi-axis of the disturbing planet. The poles corresponding to α=1 are taken out of the series, which contributes to the convergence of the expansion. The domain of convergence is given.
