Sodium: Laboratory Spectra, Sodium: Absorption Coefficient

Scientific paper

Atomic absorption is calculated theoretically for the sodium principal lines at 5890 and 3303 Å. The authors have used Doppler and Voigt or Voigt and Voigt profiles for the source and flame, respectively. Self-reversal is allowed for. Correlations are presented between experimental and theoretical findings. These provide information about the spectral characteristics of the source and the flame.
