Using carbon-13 enriched to ~61%, the Herzberg bands of CO and the Comet-tail and Baldet-Johnson bands of CO+, have been photographed. The observed isotope shifts (ν12CO-νi13CO) and (ν12CO+-νi13CO+) afford direct unambiguous evidence for the correct ness of the existing vibrational analyses of these bands.
