The paper examines the possible generation of Pc1 geomagnetic pulsations in the cusp region due to the penetration of anisotropic protons of the transition layer into the daytime magnetosphere. According to the proposed model, high-latitude Pc1 pulsations arise in the case of a northward direction of the IMF, disappear when its direction is southward, and are detected mainly at prenoon hours.
