Solar Wind: Acceleration, Solar Wind: Alfven Waves

Scientific paper

The acceleration of the solar wind coupled with the nonlinear absorption
of Alfven waves is examined, and the corresponding momentum and heat
source are found. It is shown that the dissipative acceleration leads to
a rapid speed-up of plasma in a quite narrow region adjoining a singular
point, which is in agreement with the radio-transillumination data.
