A method for evaluating the effect of noise in the control channels on
the Strehl factor is constructed based on an expansion of the quality
functional of an adaptive optical system in the Taylor series around the
extremum point. The potential statistical characteristics of the Strehl
factor are calculated for the Gaussian and Poisson noise.
