This note is a synopsis of an ``unusual field trip'' (as it is
categorized by our county's office of risk management) taken by a group
of physics students to New Mexico during their 1998 spring break. On our
four-day trip we visited points of scientific interest related to the
Manhattan Project and astronomy.
