Using the Danish-ESO 1.5 m reflector (La Silla, Chile), a series of positions of three faint Saturnian satellites on the L4 Lagrangian point of Saturn:Dione and the L4 and L5 points of Saturn:Thetys was obtained in April 1981. The position of the Thetys L4 (1981S1) and L5 (1981S2) objects could accurately be determined using the series. A periodic variation in the Dione L4 object was discovered and explained by its eccentricity of 0.0115, which is quite high compared to that of Dione (0.0022). The recording facility consists of photographic plates at the Cassegrain focus with automatic guiding to follow Saturn's motion. It is suggested that old plates also be examined in order to affirm the presence or nonpresence of these objects, and thereby improve determination of the objects' motion.
