It is noted that, since Venus has only a slight intrinsic magnetic field, it can be considered a nonmagnetic planet. Venus, however, has a high-conducting ionosphere which determines the nature of the interaction of the planet with the solar wind. The character of this interaction is found to resemble that between comets and the solar wind. A stationary model for the flow of the solar wind around Venus is developed.
