Preliminary results of a study of the luminosity functions of the four
nearest open clusters in Ursa Major, Hyades, Coma Berenices and the
Pleiades are reported. HR diagrams and (U,V) velocity diagrams are
presented. The cluster in UMa has apparently a peculiar luminosity
function.
