The position of the radio emission associated with a flare star relative to a background extragalactic radio source has been measured with an accuracy of 0arcsec.01. This emission is probably within 0arcsec.01 of the stellar optical photocenter. Thus the optical reference frame may be related to the radio reference frame at the level of optical accuracy (≡0arcsec.05).
