A method is suggested for removing the discrepancy between Cabrera's (1982) recent possible observation of a magnetic monopole density of about 10 to the -16th/cu cm and the upper limit of about 10 to the -26th/cu cm allowed by galactic magnetic fields. Monopole-antimonopole bound states of low enough principal quantum number would not be dissociated by, and hence would not take energy from, intergalactic magnetic fields. They would, however, be dissociated by the earth's magnetic field, for a high enough principal quantum number. Hence, they would be separated near the earth, as was possibly observed. A range of values for the principal quantum number is determined, and it is shown that lifetimes for such bound states are longer than the current age of the universe.
