Analysis of Phoenix Mars study regions places 4 of 5 in a
previously-identified duricrust-dominated thermophysical unit which also
contains the Viking and Spirit landing sites. Extrapolation of
lander-observed properties to the study regions may be complicated by
surface heterogeneity.
