A study of radio emission from auroral electrons in the frequency range 1 to 7 Mc/s has been made. The emissions were identified as short-duration (1-30 sec) enhancements; they were found to be spread over the entire band without any noticeable peaking near 1·5 Mc/s or the harmonics. It was also found that the direction of radiation approximately coincided with the direction of the visual aurora, as determined from all-sky camera photographs.
