Radio astronomy research in Brazil is reviewed. An acousto-optics radio spectrometer and a radio telescope are discussed, along with their application in solar radio astronomy, extragalactic radio astronomy, galactic studies, and comet observation. Among the specific phenomena studied were interstellar masers, solar radio bursts, solar cycles, and the Magellanic clouds.
