The IBIS imager on board INTEGRAL provides a unique opportunity in searching for sources within large error circles or to monitor a large number of sources because of its large field of view (29×29 square degrees), associated with a fine point source location accuracy (few arcmin up to ~100 keV). Two programs are currently performed, by means of the regular scan of INTEGRAL pointings. The first, which is also part of the INTEGRAL Core Programme activity, is devoted to the search for possible counterparts of EGRET unidentified sources. The second one is the monitoring of a large sample of blazars coupled with the possibility to perform target-of-opportunity observations in case of significant outburst events. The two programs share a common strategy, both from the scientific and observational feasibility aspects. In this work, the activity status and the first results from the two programs are reported, and discussed in view of the GLAST mission perspectives.
