We discuss the factors leading to spatial correlations in the observed
shapes of galaxies and their implications for weak lensing measurements.
Focusing on a model where the intrinsic correlations arise from angular
momentum correlations, we examine the predicted shape correlations and
how they may be distinguished from weak lensing.
