A two-layer model of the Venus atmosphere is considered. The higher layer is a gaseous aerosol slab with a fixed height of the lower boundary (h - 50 km) above the planetary surface. The lower layer is a gaseous slab consisting of pure CO2. The model is used to study observed oscillations of equivalent widths of the F(0) line of CO absorption bands of 788.3 and 868.9 nm. The optical thickness of the cloud layer is tau(x) = 34.4 for one hemisphere of the planet and tau(n) = 24.4 for the opposite one. The corresponding heights of the top boundary of the cloud layer are 68.4 and 75.8 km. The variations of height of the top boundary of the cloud layer coincide with observed variations of the degree of polarization of the Venusian disk in the UV region.
