The measurement of Li abundances larger than expected in the secondaries of some X-ray novae suggests that this element was created during the process of formation of the system or is freshly during X-ray outbursts. If this was the case, lithium abundances could provide interesting constraints to the physics of the core collapse or to the physics of accretion disks. In this paper we analyze the possibility that Li has been created by spallation by charged supra-thermal particles during "giant-like flares" associated to the system. If this was the case, a characteristic γ-ray pattern should appear together with an enhancement of Be and B.
