Photometric observations of the intensity of MG II h and k lines of the star HD206860 were made with the IUE. An analysis of the observations taken between 1970 and 1977 showed regular small amplitude variations in the light of HD206860. The amplitude in V light was found to be 0.02 m with a period of 24.9 d, however, the Ca II k and h lines did not correlate with the 24.9 d. Different intrinsic and observational causes such as: (1) the variations of Ca II lines being less prominent than MG II ones and (2) Wilson's (1976) measurements including photospheric contributions in the line which partially hides the variations of chromospheric origin, could contribute to the lack of correlations. Lastly, wavelengths and emission cores of Mg II h (wavelength of 2803 A) and k (wavelength of 2796 A) resonance lines were examined.
