Scientific paper

The fourteen invited papers on atmospheric physics, compiled in the present volume, deal with such topics as the dynamics and composition of the middle atmosphere; solar activity effects on the atmosphere and on man-made systems; and the chemistry and dynamics of the thermosphere and ionosphere. Dynamic effects of aurora-generated gravity waves on the mid-latitude ionosphere are discussed, along with magnetospheric fields and currents and their influence on large-scale thermospheric circulation and composition.
