We present a detailed look into the basic properties of the O VI absorption in the outflow gas from the Seyfert 1 galaxy I Zw 1 using data from the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer. This outflow shows a two-component ionization structure in the X rays, and previous work shows the UV absorption likely associated with the low-ionization component. We use continuum and emission line fits to measure the absorption properties from the normalized spectrum. We compare these properties to those already measured in C IV absorption data from the Faint Object Spectrograph on the Hubble Space Telescope.
