We propose one 40 ksec observation of the blazar PKS 1510-089 using primarily XMM EPIC pn detector to obtain broadband spectrum and uninterrupted light-curve. Such observations would allow detailed spectral and variability studies necessary to establish the origin of the prominent soft X-ray excess, detected in this object by BeppoSAX and found to be variable on an hour time-scale by Chandra. Such observation would provide exceptional opportunity to study the jet structure on the subparsec scales.
