The basic equations describing the quasi-stationary electrodynamic processes in the magnetosphere of a pulsar filled with an electron-positron plasma are derived. The solutions of these equations are obtained, which can be used to determine the characteristics of the magnetosphere structure. A relationship between the longitudinal current and the electric field in the magnetosphere of the pulsar is found. It is shown that, in the boundary layer near the 'light surface', the particles are strongly accelerated and a current jet arises which closes the longitudinal currents flowing in the magnetosphere. It is shown that the energy losses of the pulsar are determined by the longitudinal currents flowing in the magnetosphere and not by the magnetic-dipole radiation.
