In the framework of hydrodynamic calculations of the nova outburst, we analyse the impact of the initial abundances on the composition of the ejecta, by taking into account the chemical stratification of the white dwarf. It turns out that the presence of a CO-buffer on top of an ONe core may lead to significant amounts of both 7Li and 26Al simultaneously in an explosionn that, due to the lack of neon isotopes, would be misclassified as a CO nova.
