A description and discussion are presented concerning the surge activity of Nov. 7-16, 1968 in McMath 9760 region. More than 70 surges were observed, of which some were highly energetic. Some of the surges were accompanied by surge brightenings that were caused by a sharp increase in the velocity of the ejected matter. The region, studied at H-alpha -0.5 A, appeared to be highly stable despite the enhanced activity. Among the characteristics of the surge brightenings are that: (1) they could be seen in the line center while wavelength-scanning; (2) many brightenings started after the surge was already in progress; and (3) only one radio event was recorded during the whole period of observation.
