The movement of penumbral bright grains toward the umbra of sunspots is confirmed, and proper motions are determined for different penumbrae and reduction methods which vary between 0.08 and 0.33 km/sec. The sunspot pictures were taken with a 40 cm Newton reflector, and the spots observed are Mt. Wilson Nos. 20766 and 20773. The proper motions maximum was found at B values of 0.2 and 0.55 of the radial distance within the penumbra, in contradiction to Muller (1973, 1976) who found the maximum at the borders of the penumbra to the umbra. The lifetimes of the bright grains ranged between 1.5 and 3 hours, depending on their position in the penumbra.
