Moon Craters:Mineralogy

Scientific paper

Fortunately, in lunar cores, there are in situ crater bottom structures that contain soil breccias in apparent undisturbed spatial arrangement with respect to their parent soils. The paper cites evidence for the in situ existence of these soil breccias in cores, and interprets the textures of these breccias in terms of subcrater processes that are known to occur during and immediately after high velocity impact.
