The diffraction in the focal plane of the Cassegrain reflective system is analyzed and the intensity distribution in the focal plane is calculated with the ray tracing method of the finite element. Then with the intensity distribution being the optimization criterion, a new effective optimum method to design the structure of the Cassegrain reflective system is introduced. Being objective and quantitative, this optimization method is important to the design of the structure of the Cassegrain reflective system.
