This paper summarizes our preliminary findings on the prospects of searching for nuclear line fluorescence from the circumburster matter around gamma ray bursters. We tentatively conclude that the 12C 4.4 MeV line is the most promising line to search for, and the SMM Gamma Ray Burst database is the most promising data set for such a search. The BATSE SD database may also be worth searching.
