Planetary Nebulae, Spectral Images
Scientific paper
The preliminary results of ISOCAM-CVF spectral images between 5 and 16.5 μm of the planetary nebulae NGC 6720 and NGC 6302 are presented. The mid-IR ionic fine-structure lines of [Ne II], [Ne III], and Ne[V] are present in the CVF spectrum of the Ring Nebula (NGC 6720) with different morphologies. While the high excitation [Ne V] line is concentrate toward the center of the nebula, the emission in the [Ne II] and Ne[ III] lines has a ring like-appearance elliptical in shape. The CFV spectrum of the bipolar nebula NGC 6302 is very rich of atomic fine-structure lines and confirms the presence of the infrared emission bands at 6.2, 8.6 and 11.3 μm. All the features are spatially resolved.
