I AM indebted to Dr. Griffiths1 for pointing out the
incorrect reference to the method of preparing reductone which
inadvertently was included in our note published in NATURE of July 3.
His suggestion that reductones might bo produced by the action of the
ultra-violet light in sunlight is of some interest.
